The Cheese Shop Morpeth

The traditional clothbound Cheshire cheese is considered to be Britain's oldest named cheese, surviving two world wars. Cheshire is now made worldwide, and only a handful of English cheesemakers such as Appleby's now produce the traditional version. With a moist and crumbly texture it is loved by many, and has a clean, appetizing flavour followed by a rich mouth watering finish. Cheshire's original colour is a pale cream but, is most often dyed to a rich orange. Suitable for vegetarians and is unpasteurised.
